![]() ![]() ![]() This wasn't in the game at launch and it was added in the patch notes as a supposed improvement. Well, I was talking about the posse "reputation" system which causes companions to get mad and walk away, even if it makes no sense from a character or story standpoint. Originally posted by tv:It's a little odd that Jane is fine with being turned into a werewolf, and that Pigman Joe has almost three times as much health as Clarence ever will. I wanted to try some different things anyway, so I restarted the entire campaign. Imagine any other RPG where you can break the game from selling too much loot, but I did it. The reason why I ended up starting a new game was because I managed to soft-lock my old game because I sold too many items to the NPC merchants. But to have her get upset at returning stolen merchant goods? Also, this kind of "feature" means that the game is telling me that I should stop doing side-quests, which in effect means that I should hurry up and finish the game because it wants me to stop playing it so much. I can understand somebody like Jane Bell to be pretty mad if I start robbing banks or just randomly shooting up towns. It's garbage like this that makes me wonder just what the hell the developers are thinking. Even if you advance the story and become a totally different character, those previous characters are still "mad" at you for some reason, even though they have no reason to be. If any posse member leaves your party like this, then they are gone forever. I should point out that in the game's story, Shelby Cross is the scumbag that kidnapped her husband and was planning to eat him, and Jane's official title is "Bounty Hunter." I kill her archenemy, but when I collect the bounty on him, Jane tells me that she can't stand "do-gooders" and immediately leaves, taking all the legendary items that she had equipped. The third quest is actually collecting a bounty on Shelby Cross. While I'm in Grackle, I pick up a few side quests. I go to Jane Bell and recruit her, because that's one of the main quests. Nope, he's now a friend for life, and he apparently likes me so much that he'll let the Pigman recruit him for free. He's just some random nobody and I start up Act 2 expecting him to be gone. I end up with 100 Reputation and he's totally okay with it. Despite being a criminal, he has no problems with me helping out everyone, from delivering medical supplies to killing bounty targets. I just randomly go to any mercenary and look for dudes that will work for me for free. He was in my party for about 30 minutes as a result. The Deputy says that he hates "do-gooders" and immediately leaves, stealing all of the loot that I had given him. I do three side quests to help out people and increase my reputation. The game suggests that I recruit the Deputy in Grackle. I'm playing the Bounty Hunter on a new game. ![]()
